Defiance Children's Church at Home: Palm Sunday

Thanks to Susan Mount for this lesson!

· Get ready:

o If you have your prayer pot we made in Sunday School on the first week of Lent, get it out along with the purple piece of felt. (If you don't have a prayer pot, just get a piece of purple fabric or paper and let your child hold it).  This purple felt reminds us that Jesus is our King.

o Today we will talk about Jesus's triumphant entry into Jerusalem bringing praise and joy to the people. The people were eager to see who this man Jesus was, and the hope he was going to bring to their lives. Can you imagine if you were to see Jesus coming and the excitement (discuss, invite your child's questions) you would feel. Share with your family what you may be thinking if you were watching Jesus ride into the town down the streets on a donkey.. What would be you first thoughts? We need to have hope and the people were putting their hope in Jesus. What is your hope for Jesus today? What hope do you have for our community? Our friends? Family?
